Dove Shower Mousse

2021-03-14T18:01:26+00:00July 9th, 2018|

Foams have become very trendy lately and there are loads of various foam products on the market currently. Following the latest trends, Dove has released their shower mousse a few months ago.

This is actually 2-in-1 shower and shave mousse which enables you to shower and shave at the same time. It is available in three variations: with rose oil, coconut oil and argan oil (all threee are great moisturizers). The fragrance varies according to the oil infused. My favourite one is the alluring rose, but they all smell divine. There is a scratch-and-sniff label on the lid, so you can decide which one is appealing to you before buying.

The mousse comes in a 200ml pressurized white can with the pink, green or ocher pump and decorations depending on the ingredient present. Before use, you need to shake the bottle and then press the pump which despenses the mousse well and in abundance. The foam is rich and very soft. It spreads efortlessly and it also rinses well. The mousse leaves your skin very soft and smooth with the subtle fragrance. It prevents dryness by deeply penetrating the skin leaving it moisturized for up to 24 hours.

The poduct is paraben-free and sulphate-free and it is suitable for all skin types.

The Dove shower mousse range is available at various supermarkets.

These amazig shower mousses will change the way you feel while showering. Their thick soft leather provides a unique and luxurious shower experience.

The Body Shop Banana Shower Cream and Body Butter

2018-04-30T09:17:08+00:00April 30th, 2018|

The Body Shop reopened in Limassol several months ago and I couldn’t be happier because I love all their products.

A few weeks ago I paid a visit to their shop in Anexartisias Street and I was warmly welcomed by Maria, Yiannos and Marios. They kindly showed me around and explained everything in detail about both the old and new range of products.

New special additions to the banana range grabbed my attention immediately and I bought (among other things) the banana shower cream and got the banana body butter to try out. Both are special summer limited editions enriched with community trade organic banana puree from Ecuador. They are 100% vegan and cruelty free.

The banana shower cream is thicker in consistency than the regular shower gel, but it spreads effortlessly and leathers up in no time. It leaves your skin smooth and fresh with the irresistible creamy banana fragrance.

The shower cream comes in a packaging of 60ml and 250ml and it sells for 3,00EUR and 7,00EUR respectively.

The banana body butter melts into your skin providing up to 24 hours of moisture. Massage it into the skin and allow it to sink in. It absorbs quickly leaving your skin softer, smoother and nourished. Your body is instantly enveiled in the banana fragrance which lingers for quite a while and smells good enough to eat!

The butter comes in a packaging of 50ml which sells for 6,00EUR and 200ml which sells for 15,00EUR.

On my recent trip to Scandinavia, I have seen that the Body Shop also sells the banana body yogurt with the new lightweight formula. It comes in a 200ml packaging.

You will definitely go bananas over these products which are insanely good!

Bean Body Coffee Bean Scrub

2018-03-05T14:26:03+00:00March 5th, 2018|

Bean Body is an Australian company founded by a group of young talented cosmetic enthusiasts who believe that everyone deserves affordable all-natural and high-quality cosmetic products which actually work.

Bean Body craft a range of coffee bean scrubs in various scents such as coconut, vanilla, coco berry, mandarin, manuca honey and peppermint. All the scrubs are vegan friendly, cruelty free, and without parabens.

Some of the ingredients and their benefits are the following:

Caffeine (it stimulates the blood flow and helps reduce the appearance of cellulite, eczema, stretch marks, age spots and varicose veins).

Demerara sugar and himalayan salt (these exfoliate the skin removing dead skin cells).

Coconut oil (it hydrates and moisturises the skin).

Cocoa and vitamin E (they are high in antioxidants which nourish and protect the skin, promoting cell repair and rejuvenation).

The scrubs are suitable for use all over the face and body and they come in re-seable pouches of 220g.

I have received a sample of Bean Body Coconut Coffee Scrub in one of my Lookfantastic Beauty Boxes. The scrub is a little bit coarse and looks like used coffee beans. To use, you simply rub a handful of scrub onto dump skin in circular massage motions focusing on problem areas such as areas with stretchmarks, age spots or where you have breakouts and then leave it to dry for five minutes before rinsing it off. The dead skin cells are gently buffed away leaving your skin feeling softer and smoother while the oils add moisture and nourish your skin. The coconut scent is quite subtle and the coffee one is prevailing, so not only your skin, but the whole bathroom smells rather nice of invigorating coffee.

The only downside of using this scrub is that it is a bit messy (this goes for all coffee scrubs) and every time you use it, you will have to clean your shower or bath tub afterwards.

Bean Body Coffee Scrubs are available from Bean Body Australia, Bean Body Global and Lookfantastic.com and they sell for about 18,00EUR.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Huile Lavante Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil

2021-03-14T19:09:16+00:00January 29th, 2018|

La Roche Posay Laboratories created Lipikar range of products about 25 years ago for dry, sensitive and atopy prone skin. This range has proved effective in a number of clinical trials and therefore many dermatologists recommend it. It is suitable for babies, children and adults.

Although it is an oil product, it is not runny at all and it has a gel-like consistency. The cleansing agents in the oil are selected for optimal tolerance. Its formula is enriched with niacinamide which helps to restore the cutaneous barrier of the skin and soothe the tightness and shea butter for intense lipid replenishment. It has neutral pH, it is soap-free, alcohol-free, colorant-free and paraben-free. It is also enriched with thermal spring water and it is 100% hypoallergenic.

You can use it both in the shower or bath. For use in the shower, apply it directly to the moistened skin and gently massage. Alternatively, pour 2-4 cupfuls into the bath water. Gently rinse and pat dry without rubbing.

I received this shower/bath oil as a gift when I purchased some other products online. My skin is normal, but during winter time it becomes dry and I always need to apply a good moisturizer after the shower. With this product, this is not necessary. It leaves my skin soft, nourished and comfortable enough to skip the moisturizer. It does not leave any greasy film. The only downside of this exquisite product is the scent. It smells like edible sunflower oil to me and I can hardly stand it in the shower or bath.

It comes in a 200ml, 400ml and 750ml bottle and it is available in various pharmacies and online. The price may vary and a 200ml bottle costs about 12,00EUR.

Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser

2021-03-14T20:27:42+00:00December 21st, 2017|

Vaseline intensive care spray moisturiser has become my favourite body moisturiser from the moment I tried it a few months ago. I tried all three of them which are available on this market and they are all equally good.

The essential healing spray moisturiser is with pure oat extract to leave skin soft. The cocoa radiant one is with pure cocoa butter to bring out your skin’s natural glow and the aloe soothing moisturiser is with aloe which is known to soothe and calm dry, irritated skin. Although they are meant for dry skin, I think they can be used for all skin types as they absorb in seconds to moisturize your skin without being greasy or sticky.

The continuous spray with fine mist is a wonderful way to apply the product evenly and thus you can reach areas which are otherwise hard to reach. The scent is mild and pleasant.

The moisturiser comes in a tin bottle of 190ml and it costs about 5,00EUR.
